Audiences are inspired by Rutan’s enthusiasm for what individuals with vision can achieve. “An engineer in a normal company structure,” says Rutan, “gets to work on two or three airplanes in his whole career. We’ve done twenty-three airplanes in twenty years.” Burt Rutan has received numerous awards for his designs.
